About the Film

The legacy of rare instruments and the life-changing power of music

APPASSIONATO is a breathtaking journey from Lincoln Center in New York to Cremona’s International School of Violin Making and from the legendary vault at Tarisio to the halls of The Juilliard School.

The film follows world-class musicians as they touch hearts in the finest concert halls and beyond—bringing the life-changing power of music to hospital patients, children in war zones, and underserved communities across the globe.

-Juilliard String Quartet violist, Molly Carr, on the legacy of rare instruments

“Three hundred years of history just fell into my lap.”

Our Impact

APPASSIONATO celebrates the cultural and societal impact of fine instruments in the hands of gifted musicians. We are working in concert with organizations like The Stradivari Society of Chicago, Tarisio - Fine Instruments & Bows, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach, champions of Baroque instruments and their extraordinary capacity to change our world.

Together, we are empowering artists who enrich our culture, cultivating the next generation of musicians and music lovers, and ensuring that fine instruments will always have a voice in our world.

Connecting artists who define the cultural moment with audiences who will carry it forward

“We have so much respect for these instruments. What else is that old? That alive?…And still living a great life.

-Karen Arrison, Stradivari Society patron, life-long music lover
